About GEAR

Published: Monday, 13 January 2014

GEAR (Getting Excited About Robotics) started in 2002 with the goal to generate interest among students to pursue a career in engineering, science, or technology and show them that math and science can be fun.  The challenges are designed to make students think at a higher level and give them an opportunity to see how everyday math and science apply to the real word with the relative safety of a classroom environment.

Throughout the challenge students are exposed to various aspects of design and engineering principles, as well as, gain valuable time management, critical thinking, conflict resolution, team leadership, and problem solving skills.
